Here We Go Again

Make Money Online blog number 1,093,101! The number is exaggerated of course, but for a lot of searching blogs, it seems like that many. I really wanted to start a blog, but didn’t know what to write about. I work a regular job during the day, come home, make sure my daugther gets her homework done on time and then I get online to do something related to Internet Marketing…that I consider my hobby . I’ve been doing it for over 10 years now. Hopefully, by adding my own personally, it will make this one different from the rest and hopefully I’ll get more interaction with my visitors. We’ll see.

The first money I ever made online was from selling magazine subscriptions. I was actually an affiliate for a magazine agent who shared his profits with his members. I actually had to have customers mail me personal checks for their subscriptions and wait until they cleared the bank before I could process their orders. As a part-timer, I couldn’t afford the cost of creating a merchant account and purchasing the hardware required to process credit card orders.

The Internet has come a long way since then. Several third-part merchants have come online that allow you to accept credit orders without having to have your own merchant account. First there was PayPal and then AlertPay, then Google Checkout and others.

Everything was easier back then too. Building your own opt-in list, getting traffic using Free-for-All sites, even getting listed on search engines. And it was FREE too! It take long for the Internet to change the world. It leveled the playing field, allowing us little guys to compete with big companies and be successful. It also made it a lot easier to invite scam artists into our homes and take us for all we have.

Well, enough reminiscing, it’s time to get to the business at hand…making money online…
