Getting More Inbound Links to Your Website
In a previous post I made titled WebSite Promotion Basics, I talked about preparing your pages properly so they could be picked up by the search engines. That’s called search engine optimization or SEO. Another part to SEO is getting backlinks (inbound links from other sites). Backlinks add relevance to your website and help you get listed higher in search engine results.
The more common methods for getting backlinks, besides exchanging links with other sites, are posting comments on blogs posting discussions in forums. In both cases, you would leave a comment and then sign it with your signature or byline that included a link back to your web site. Another method I like to use to get backlinks is submitting my website and blogs to search directories. I’ve listed a few here:
- Hotvsnot Directory
- Infogle Deep Link Directory
- Back Links Free Directory
- Suggest URL - Suggest A Site
- Seo BlaHoo
- Seo Web Directory
If accepted, your website will soon be getting some backlinks and hopefully, start to climb up in search results. Now here’s another neat method to increase your traffic. It’s called “deep linking”.
What is deep linking?
Deep linking is yet another part of SEO and can help increase your site’s page rank. Most of the links your website gets typically point to your main page. Getting more of your pages indexed will help even more. Below are some sites that accept deep linking for free in exchange for a link to their sites. Just submit a few of your other pages to them, NOT your main page!
- Free Deep Links
- deep link directory - Internet Marketing
- Dallas Business Directory
- Seo Deep Links
- Deep Linker Directory
Just try this little bit of SEO and see how it helps improve your traffic from search engines. I found this tidbit of information useful!

You mention posting comments on blogs. This is a big deal these days. You have to consider the no-follow and do-follow deal but there are free software programs to help you find targeted blogs that allow links. This is a great way to get your page picked up by the search engines and increase your PR.
I have developed a free system which expands that blog commenting feature to just about any standard website. I think you would enjoy it and benefit from it as it gets going:
